Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant – Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Evening), 0700-1930, every other weekend. Holidays on rotation. 4x12 schedule available. 24 hours of orientation provided.
Highlights:
•
Work on a 41-bed hematology, oncology, stem cell transplant, and palliative care inpatient unit at a nationally recognized, Magnet-designated hospital
•
Care for patients undergoing bone marrow and stem cell transplants, cellular therapies (CAR T), and complex oncology treatments including leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumor cancers
•
Utilize Epic charting system and collaborate with comprehensive interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
•
Engage with cutting-edge, evidence-based therapies and research studies to improve patient outcomes
•
Adult and geriatric patient population with typical patient ratios of 3-4 patients per nurse
•
Opportunity to participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change
Requirements:
•
Active RN license required
•
3+ years recent experience in Hematology/Oncology/BMT required
•
Level I or Level II Trauma center or similar large hospital experience required
•
Epic charting system experience required
•
BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
•
Chemotherapy certification required (ONS/ONCC)
•
Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date (strict passing criteria apply)
•
Charge experience preferred
•
Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
•
Must reside 50+ miles from the facility
Clinical Competencies:
•
Administration of chemotherapy (IV push, continuous infusion, oral) and monitoring for side effects
•
Care and management of central lines, ports, and PICC lines
•
Administration of blood products, bone marrow, and coagulation factors
•
Management of stem cell transplant patients and graft-versus-host disease
•
Recognition and management of oncology emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, extravasation injury, sepsis, and hemorrhage
•
Patient/family education and support throughout the cancer journey
•
Palliative and end-of-life care

Floating to other units as needed is required
•
