Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Inpatient Oncology Float Pool – New Jersey

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement. Patient ratios typically 1:4 to 1:5 based on unit census and acuity. Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).
Highlights:

Float within a state-of-the-art 12-story cancer center featuring advanced oncology, radiation, and interventional services

Work with diverse patient populations including all solid and liquid tumor diagnoses, bone marrow transplant, clinical trials, and surgical oncology

Epic charting system experience required; 24 hours of orientation provided
•
Float primarily to oncology units with potential assignments to medical/surgical telemetry, step-down, and PCU/IMC units within skillset
•
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, respiratory services, and specialty therapies
•
First-time travelers and local candidates welcome at the same rate
Requirements:
•
Active New Jersey or Compact State RN license required
•
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience in inpatient oncology, PCU/IMC, or medical/surgical telemetry settings
•
Teaching hospital experience required
•
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card
•
Epic electronic medical record experience required
•
Demonstrated competency in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration including IV push, oral, and continuous infusions
•
Proficiency in IV therapy including port access, central line management, PICC line care, and blood product administration
•
Experience managing oncologic emergencies such as acute tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, hemorrhage, and sepsis
•
Knowledge of symptom management for oncology patients including neuropathy, mucositis, and treatment side effects
•
Ability to float between units within scope of practice and experience
