Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Patient ratio typically 5-6:1, may flex to 7:1 in extreme circumstances.

Floating required to other medical-surgical units within the facility based on census needs

Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
•
36 hours of orientation provided
Requirements:
•
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
•
Orthopedic experience required
•
Epic EMR experience required (first-time travelers accepted with Epic experience)
•
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
•
Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
•
Required skills: IV start and telemetry monitoring
•
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
•
Preferred: ACLS certification, charge nurse experience, Level I trauma experience
•
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Patient Population:
Average daily census of 37 patients across 39 beds. Patient diagnoses include orthopedic conditions, neuro spine cases, medical-surgical patients, and post-surgical care. Nurses must be skilled in pain management protocols, including multiple pain medication administration for the high post-surgical and orthopedic patient population.

Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved (no holiday time off permitted)

Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
•
No requested time off allowed during first week or after contract signing
•
Pre-start online modules required (8-10 hours, non-billable)
