Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13 or 26-week contracts available. Patient ratio 1:2-3 on nights. Three weekends per 6-week scheduling period required; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays.Highlights:- Level III NICU with 54 beds; Level IV experience highly preferred with full range of critical neonatal diagnoses including extreme prematurity (22 weeks and above), complex cardiac anomalies, and post-operative care- Advanced equipment and procedures including high frequency ventilation, iNO, ECMO, whole body cooling for HIE patients, conventional ventilators, and tracheostomy management- Epic charting system with 36 hours of orientation provided- Float opportunities to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery (newborn transition)- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and radiology- Contract flexibility with 13 or 26-week options; up to 40 hours of approved time off per 13-week contractRequirements:- Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience (Level IV highly preferred; floating experience does not fulfill this requirement)- Current Virginia RN license or pending (must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)- BLS certification required- NRP certification required at time of submission- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (can submit pending; $200 cost)- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)- Epic charting system experience required- Patient ratio experience of 1:3- Strong demonstrated experience with high frequency ventilators, conventional ventilators, iNO, tracheostomy care, NIPPV/NIMV, CPAP/BiPAP, IV fluid management including drips, hemodynamic support, post-operative care, whole body cooling, IV placements, lab draws, and medication calculations- BSN preferred- Nursys verification and references required with submissionWhy It's a Great Opportunity:This position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity NICU environment caring for the most vulnerable patient population, from extreme premature infants to complex cardiac and surgical cases.
