Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Surgical Short Stay – North Carolina
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend required (12 weekend night shifts per contract on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday). Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. Floating to inpatient surgery floors, holding areas, or medical floors as needed.
Highlights:
•
Work in a specialized 12-bed Surgical Short Stay unit caring for adult surgical patients, with most stays under 24 hours
•
Diverse patient population across multiple surgical service lines including orthopedic, neurologic, urologic, vascular, colorectal, and gynecologic procedures
•
Experience with specialized equipment including wound vac systems, CBI, JP drains, and BD Alaris Infusion Systems with PCA modules
•
EPIC charting system utilized (experience preferred)
•
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
•
24 hours of orientation provided with up to 7 days of approved time off per contract
Requirements:
•
Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license
•
Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
•
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
•
Short stay/observation unit experience required
•
Charge nurse experience preferred
•
EPIC charting experience preferred
•
First-time travelers accepted
•
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
•
Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
•
Ability to work major holidays and serve on Storm/Hurricane Team as needed
