Job Opportunity – Trauma Stepdown RN – West Virginia

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3x12 or 4x12 options available. Every other weekend required. Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs. Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Highlights:
•
37-bed unit including 25 medical/surgical trauma telemetry beds, 6 trauma stepdown beds, and 6 pediatric beds (travelers typically assigned to adult populations only)
•
Level 1 Trauma Center - major teaching hospital with multidisciplinary team approach
•
Patient ratios: 1:5 on floor; 1:3 in stepdown unit
•
Cerner charting system in 855-bed acute care facility
•
36-hour or 48-hour contract options available with flexible scheduling requests considered
•
Orientation held every other Thursday with comprehensive onboarding support
Requirements:
•
Active West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission)
•
Minimum 2 years RN experience; minimum 1 year in-specialty experience required
•
PCU, IMC, Trauma, or Stepdown experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted if experienced in ICU/Trauma
•
BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association required)
•
CPI certification and Fit Test required; TNCC preferred
•
Skills required: IV start, ventilator management, telemetry, Level 1 Trauma experience, conscious sedation
•
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only during flu season October 1 - March 31)
•
Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from past 2 years
•
Must reside 100+ miles from facility (75-99 miles considered case-by-case)
