Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Intermediate Critical Care Unit – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Self-scheduling system balanced and approved by staffing coordinator.
Highlights:
•
Intermediate Critical Care Unit specializing in DKA, Sickle Cell Crisis, Sepsis, Respiratory Distress, Pneumonia, Heart Failure, and Stroke patients
•
1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with structured orientation of 36 hours
•
Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management
•
Recent ICU experience strongly preferred; ideal for seasoned critical care travelers
•
Functions as Rapid Response RN with specialized equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and Optiflow
•
Floating to Medical-Surgical units as needed (1:6 ratio when floating)
Requirements:
•
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
•
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or Progressive Care experience required
•
Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
•
NIHSS certification preferred
•
Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
•
Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, ventilated patient care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, and PCA management
•
Experience with Epic charting system required
•
First-time travelers accepted; travel experience beneficial
•
Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays and complete all scheduled shifts
