About the Position

Title: RN : Psych Duration: 13 weeks Location: 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642 Start Date: 10/26/2026 Schedule: Floating Shift (12x3 Hours) 36hours/week

Unit: Child & Adolescent Psychiatry | Ages 5–18

Patient Population: Pediatric patients experiencing acute mental health crises

Experience: 2 years pediatric mental health experience required

License: Active NYS RN License required

Certification: AHA BLS required

Preferred: CPI Blue Card

Preferred Experience: Large academic medical center

Schedule: 36 or 48 hrs/week

Shift: D/E/N rotating schedule

Weekends: Required per unit needs

Holidays: Required per unit needs

Call: Required per unit needs

Care Model: Multidisciplinary team providing safe, therapeutic care

Unit Focus: Stabilization through group therapy, Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, Coping Skills & psychopharmacological interventions

Skills: Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience Expertise Rating Move RN License (NY License ONLY) Required Two (2) Years Experience Required BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Required Telemetry Nice to have Questions: Question 1 When can this candidate start their assignment at SMH? Question 2 Does this candidate have RTO? If yes, what are the dates. Question 3 Does this candidate have EPIC experience in the same area/specialty within the last year? Question 4 When is this candidate available for an interview with URMC? Question 5 Does this candidate live 50 miles or greater from URMC? Question 6 Is this candidate aware of the Blocked Weekend Nights on the inpatient units? Question 7 Is HCP able to obtain TB skin test? #TB_RN
