•
Deliver highly individualized intermediate care to medical, cardiac, and surgical complex patients including those with sepsis, stroke, myocardial infarction, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, DKA, CVA, acute and chronic respiratory failure, GI bleed, and post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients
•
Perform Q6H head-to-toe assessments with full documentation in Meditech
•
Manage and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Dopamine, Dobutrex, Nitro, Heparin, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Cardene, Labetalol, Insulin, and Precedex
•
Perform and assist with unit procedures including IV insertion, Foley placement, DHT/NG placement, chest tube management, CVC management, wound vac management, EKGs, DKA management, and patient ambulation
•
Utilize iMobile devices for encrypted communication, chart review via Patient Keeper, and wound documentation through integrated wound care app
•
Adhere to a 4:1 patient ratio and participate in self-scheduling within unit guidelines, including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; travel RNs float before core staff on a rotating basis
•
Active RN license valid for practice in Tennessee
•
BLS certification required
•
ACLS certification required
•
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
•
Proficiency in advanced skills: IV insertion, chest tube management, DHT insertion and management, tracheostomy care, CVC management, EKG interpretation, Foley management, and early patient mobility
•
Navy scrubs required as dress code
•
Cardiac and/or telemetry nursing experience
•
PCU, stepdown, or critical care/ICU experience strongly preferred
•
Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
•
Experience with Phillips telemetry monitoring and Alaris infusion pumps
•
