Job Opportunity – Pediatric Critical Care RN – Virginia
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Schedule: 13-week assignment, nights only, 36 or 48 hours per week. Three weekends per six-week schedule. Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity.
Highlights:
•
Combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care unit with high census and high acuity
•
Specialized patient population including congenital heart defects (HLHS, TOF, TGA), heart transplant, trauma, DKA, and post-operative cases including liver and kidney transplants
•
Epic EMR system experience required
•
24 hours of orientation provided with specialty-specific modules
•
Advanced equipment experience with ECMO, VADs, and CRRT
•
May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
Requirements:
•
Minimum 2 years of pediatric critical care nursing experience
•
Active Virginia RN license or pending (must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
•
Current BLS and PALS certifications required
•
Pediatric cardiac experience strongly preferred
•
Trauma Level I experience preferred
•
Epic charting system experience required
•
Proficiency in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, arterial line management, and pediatric dosage calculations
•
Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required

25-bed unit with daily census of approximately 23 patients
