Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM; 36 or 48-hour contracts accepted with option for 13-26 week assignments; every other weekend required; no call
Highlights:
•
Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit with 36 beds providing care for diverse patient populations including diabetic, cardiac, respiratory, renal, and post-surgical patients
•
1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, and Physical Therapy
•
Epic charting system with 24-hour orientation period and required EKG competency testing
•
Float opportunities to other Medical-Surgical units; must be available for all major holidays and weekend coverage
•
Maximum of 7 days approved time off per contract; no blocked scheduling requests accepted except weekend blocks
•
Navy blue or white scrubs required; contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events
Requirements:
•
Current North Carolina or Compact RN license
•
BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
•
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience required
•
Charge experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
•
Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
•
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
•
Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, wound care, blood product administration, and respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
•
Experience with central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tubes, hemodialysis management, and PCA pumps
•
Epic charting experience preferred
