Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Ortho Trauma – North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. No call. Patient ratio 1:5-6. Contract length flexible, up to February 27, 2027.
Highlights:

Ortho Trauma and General Surgery unit specializing in severe bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, and neurological trauma
•
Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC with Pyxis and SBAR
•
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more
•
Floating to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
•
28 hours total orientation (12 hours unit-specific, 16 hours organizational)
•
Dress code: Navy or white scrubs
Requirements:
•
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
•
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
•
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
•
Ortho/Neuro/Trauma experience required
•
Must be comfortable with 1:5-6 patient ratios
•
Charge experience preferred
•
First-time travelers accepted
•
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
•
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Important Notes: Contract staff will be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters. Requested time off after booking is not permitted and cannot be negotiated onsite. Up to 7 days of pre-approved time off may be considered during the contract period (excluding holidays and first week). Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
