Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any related facility. A driver's license is required and will be used to determine eligibility based on distance. Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract. RNs must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation. This exam is open book and based on skills learned. A minimum score of 90% is required to pass; otherwise, termination will occur. Blocked scheduling will not be approved unless it's for weekends only. No duos wanting the same schedule or sharing cars will be accepted. If placed on call and then called back in, RNs have 30 minutes to arrive. Department has 33 beds with an average daily census of 16. The nurse-to-patient ratio for adults is 1:2-3. Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, adult sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. RNs are required to titrate drips, including any cardiac drip, insulin, and sedation. Nurse aides are available based on census and can assist on the floor as needed. Healthcare support tech is available 3 days per week. RNs are required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment but will not perform extensive interventions. Shifts run from 0630 to 1830 and 1830 to 0630. Self-scheduling is allowed for core staff, with travelers added in. Cannot guarantee blocked scheduling. RNs are required to read, interpret, document telemetry strips, and monitor brands used. Floating typically occurs to adjacent units with the same patient ratios. A minimum of 2 holidays is required within the contract timeframe. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. There is 1 shift of unit-specific orientation. Requests for time off must be submitted upfront. Additional requests for time off will not be approved after submissions. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting system used is EPIC. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not required. A valid license is necessary for submission. The trauma level for this role is 2. The care setting is acute.
