Job Opportunity – Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Wisconsin

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: 36 hours per week, evening/night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. This is a float position with shifts scheduled across multiple units based on current staffing needs.

Provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children with diverse case mix including acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO
•
Work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team including specialists from a university-affiliated medical school and health system
•
Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU environment with Epic EMR system
•
Patient ratios: ICU 1:1-2, IMC 1:2-3, General care 1:3-4
•
Float opportunities across all pediatric inpatient units with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
•
Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from permanent address state
•
Minimum 2 years of acute care PICU experience within the last 3 years required
•
Solid Pediatric ICU experience; cardiovascular ICU, cardiac step-down, or general cardiac experience strongly preferred
•
Prior travel nursing experience required
•
BLS certification through American Heart Association (required)
•
PALS certification through American Heart Association (required)
•
Basic arrhythmia experience and ability to pass telemetry examination prior to start (80% passing score with specific criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
•
Epic charting system experience required
•
Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred
•
Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
•
Permanent address must be 50 miles or more from facility location
•
Trauma Level I experience preferred
