Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry RN – North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. No call. Float as needed within facility.

Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks accepted
•
Comprehensive 24-hour floor training following initial orientation
Requirements:
•
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
•
Current BLS certification required
•
Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical or telemetry experience (experienced first-time travelers considered)
•
Must be comfortable managing 1:6 patient ratios
•
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
•
Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
•
Experience with surgical patients, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
•
Competency with wound vacs, chest tubes, surgical drains, central lines, and various IV management
Patient Population & Clinical Experience:
This unit cares for a wide range of surgical and trauma patients with diagnoses including appendicitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis, motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, various cancers, kidney stones, bowel obstructions, peripheral vascular disease, and more. Procedures include cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, ostomy care, wound debridement, tumor removal, amputations, and fem-pop bypass surgeries.
