Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required. Contract length: 16+ weeks through February 27, 2027. Float requirement: Yes. No call requirement.
Highlights:

Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in stroke patients (ischemic and hemorrhagic), craniotomies, carotid procedures, aneurysm management, and complex neuro cases

Nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1 (may flex to 3:1 during high census periods); average daily census 11-12 patients

Advanced neuro equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
•
Epic charting system with 24-hour orientation (2 shifts)
•
Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and dedicated lift teams
•
Designated to support unit through the holiday season with contract ending February 27, 2027
Requirements:
•
Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required (general ICU experience does not qualify)
•
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
•
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
•
Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license
•
Proficiency in Epic charting system required
•
Strong clinical skills including: ventilator management, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, and lumbar drain experience
•
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
•
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
