Job Opportunity – Surgical/Trauma ICU RN – Virginia

Schedule: 13-week assignment, night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week available, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, every other weekend required, must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
Highlights:
•
Fast-paced 15-bed Surgical/Trauma ICU within a Level 1 trauma facility caring for surgical and trauma adult critical care patients
•
Care for post-operative patients following emergency or highly complex surgical procedures and multi-system trauma patients requiring continuous intensive monitoring
•
Epic EMR system required; 24 hours of orientation provided
•
Access to comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and radiology
•
Work with specialized equipment including CRRT, rapid infuser, Camino, NICOM, and blood warmer
•
Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off available during contract (must be requested at submission)
Requirements:
•
Current Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
•
Minimum 1 year of critical care nursing experience
•
Experience with 1:2 patient ratios in ICU setting
•
BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
•
Epic charting system experience required
•
Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred
•
Competency in arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
•
Ability to float within scope of practice as needed per facility policy
•
Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
