Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48-hour contracts available, every other weekend required, no call required, floating as needed
Highlights:

Work in a dynamic inpatient surgery unit with a diverse patient population including surgical and trauma cases

Patient ratios of 1:6 for floor-level medical-surgical and surgical step-down patients
•
Epic charting system with comprehensive 24 hours of floor training following 2 days of hospital orientation
•
Contract extensions available through February 27, 2027
•
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
•
Experience with specialized equipment including wound vacs, chest tubes, NG tubes, and various surgical drains
Requirements:
•
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
•
Current BLS certification required
•
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 1 year considered for experienced travelers
•
Must be comfortable with 1:6 patient ratios
•
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
•
Experience with telemetry, surgical patients, and dysrhythmia management preferred
•
Proficiency with Epic charting system preferred
•
Trauma Level II experience preferred
•
Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Patient Population & Clinical Experience:
•
Wide range of surgical and trauma diagnoses including appendicitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis, motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, various cancers, kidney stones, bowel obstructions, and peripheral vascular disease
•
Surgical procedures include cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, ostomy creation/closure, wound debridement, tumor removal, amputations, and fem-pop bypass
•
Skills utilized include blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, chest tube management, PCA pumps, wound care/wound vacs, IV therapy, heparin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula

43-bed unit (34 floor beds, 9 step-down beds)
•
Pre-start online modules required (approximately 8-10 hours, non-billable)
