Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Days (3x12-hour shifts), weekdays and some weekends; 4:1 patient ratio; 3-4 weekend shifts per month
Highlights:

Progressive Care Unit experience NOT required – mixed med-surg PCU unit with transitional beds
•
EPIC EMR charting system utilized facility-wide
•
36-hour comprehensive orientation provided
•
27-bed unit with daily census of 23 patients; care for adult and geriatric populations
•
Extensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
•
Float to lower acuity units as needed within the organization
Requirements:
•
Active Ohio RN license (compact or state license required at time of submission)
•
Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
•
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
•
IV certification and experience starting/maintaining IVs
•
EPIC experience strongly preferred
•
Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
•
Skills required: IV management, peripheral and PICC line care, chest tubes, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, med-surg/telemetry, and use of rapid response/code teams
•
Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership role)
Key Responsibilities:
•
Start and manage IV lines and administer medications safely
•
Monitor patient vitals and physiological responses to treatments
•
Provide patient education on treatments, procedures, and self-care
•
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient care plans
•
Document accurately using EPIC EMR system
•
Care for patients with various diagnoses including organ failure, substance withdrawal, behavior issues, change in level of consciousness, and general medical conditions
•
Perform med-surg procedures including Foley catheter insertion, IV antibiotics administration, chest tube management, paracentesis at bedside, and more
•
Follow all hospital policies and maintain patient safety standards
