Job Opportunity – Emergency Department RN – Virginia
Start Date: October 26, 2026 (additional start dates available: October 12 or November 9)
Location: Central Virginia

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week over 13 weeks. Weekend coverage required with rotating days based on staffing needs. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays.
Highlights:
•
High-acuity emergency department with Level I Trauma Center designation, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain (STEMI) capabilities
•
Daily census of approximately 165 visits across 71 rooms serving all age groups including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
•
Patient ratios of 4-5 patients per nurse across all shifts
•
Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
•
Collaborative interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and interpretation services
•
Up to 40 hours of approved time off available during the 13-week assignment
Requirements:
•
Active RN license in Virginia (or pending; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
•
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
•
Must have either 1 year of Level I Trauma facility experience OR 2 years of Level II Trauma facility experience
•
Pediatric patient experience required (does not need to be in a dedicated pediatric ER)
•
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (TNCC may be pending at submission but must be obtained before start date)
•
Epic EMR experience required
•
Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
