Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Virginia

Schedule: Day shift available; 36 or 48 hours per week; 13-week assignment; every other weekend required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays; block scheduling not guaranteed
Highlights:
•
Patient ratio of 1:4 on days/weekends and 1:5 on nights
•
26-bed medical/surgical telemetry unit with diverse patient population including respiratory illnesses, renal conditions, diabetes, sepsis, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
•
Epic charting system required; 24 hours of paid orientation provided
•
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
•
Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off available during the 13-week contract
•
Hands-on clinical experience with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, wound vacs, PCA pumps, insulin drips, and heparin protocols
Requirements:
•
Active Virginia RN license or pending license (must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
•
Minimum 1 year of RN experience; patient ratio experience up to 1:5 required
•
Epic EMR experience required
•
BLS certification required
•
Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
•
Previous charge experience and Trauma Level I experience preferred
•
Strong competency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin and heparin protocols, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care, and isolation precautions
•
Must be willing to float within scope of practice as needed
•
Nursys verification and professional references required with submission
