Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: 1 year required License: Compact or state license in hand upon submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI required Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience of 6:1 Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting the role, the unit manager may assign the traveler to an "Emergency Team" where there will be an expectation to stay until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing the travel contract to take a position, the traveler accepts this and will report as assigned by the unit manager if an emergency event were to occur. Travelers should not apply if they are not comfortable with this expectation. Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation. Every other weekend coverage is required, with allowances for self-scheduling recommendations. The unit will accept first-time travelers. A minimum of 1 year of experience is required. Certification in ACLS, BLS, and CPI is mandatory. The average daily census on the unit is approximately 25 patients. The unit cares for various patient diagnoses, including COPD, CHF exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, renal failure, pneumonia, STEMI, shortness of breath, cellulitis, and surgical patients. Special procedures performed include paracentesis and thoracentesis. Travelers must have experience in accessing/managing ports, CPAP/BiPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, and various other essential nursing skills. Candidates must provide two manager or supervisor references upon request for clearance to start the contract. NURSYS reports for RNs must be sent with the profile and be updated within 4 weeks of submission.
