Registered Nurse I is a compassionate, licensed professional who delivers safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care through the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will coordinate individualized patient education, guide and supervise ancillary team members, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. All practice must align with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, procedures, and current evidence-based guidelines. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans. Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes. Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care. Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development. Float to other departments as needed, with appropriate orientation and training. Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient needs. Current certifications required include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring. OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification required within 12 months. SAFER Technician certification is preferred. Skilled in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment. Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance is essential. Physical, environmental, and psychological considerations involve frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials. Work occurs primarily in a temperature-controlled hospital setting with occasional exposure to varied sounds, odors, and emotionally challenging situations. Candidates must be physically able to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment. Ability to work effectively under stress and respond calmly to emergencies while maintaining strong problem-solving and coping skills is required. Team-oriented attitude, adaptability, and resilience in dynamic clinical situations are necessary.
