Job Title: Staff Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Six months to three years of Nursing (RN) experience License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience with intensive cardiac patients, including CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia. Experience with stroke patients, including thrombectomy/TNK. ICU overflow experience is beneficial. Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN focuses on the prevention of illness and injury and the alleviation of suffering. This involves the diagnosis and treatment of human responses and advocacy in patient care. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Job Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. Serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, as designated by unit assignment. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes working knowledge of pharmacology and administers medications safely. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing and supplies. Complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. Actively participates in and supports nursing governance initiatives. Engages in professional development and completes mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performs duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Participates in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop. Will perform other duties as assigned.
