Every other weekend is required. No call required. Floating within the facility/scope of practice as needed. Unit accepts first-time travelers. Manager has 48 hours to review profiles and confirmations after signing. Compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a delay. If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both. If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. Core items/labs must be completed shortly after contract signing. All compliance documents are due prior to the start. Modules are required and will be completed during orientation. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 150. Unit has interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Patient ratios for days, nights, and weekends set at 4. Additional requirements include care of ventilated patients, central line care/managing, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and management of patients with dysrhythmias. In assessing qualifications, preferred experience in trauma level I and trauma level II is noted.
