Job Opportunity – Critical Care Registered Nurse – Maryland

Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week, 12-hour shifts with every other weekend rotation, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, may float to IMC as needed
Highlights:

Specialized critical care unit serving trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro patient populations
•
Collaborative 24-bed ICU with 18 average daily census and comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
•
Epic EMR system utilized for all documentation and patient charting
•
Extensive specialized equipment experience including CRRT, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and intraventricular drains (EVDs)
•
24-hour orientation provided with structured onboarding process
•
One pre-approved time-off request available during assignment
Requirements:
•
Active RN license (pending licenses accepted)
•
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
•
Minimum 3 years of critical care nursing experience preferred (strong candidates with 2+ years will be considered)
•
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
•
Epic EMR experience required
•
Experience with 1:2 patient ratios in critical care settings
•
Charge nurse experience preferred
•
Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
•
COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (no exemptions)
•
Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
Essential Clinical Skills:
•
Advanced cardiac care: arterial line management, CVP monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, pre/post cardiac catheterization care
•
Neurocritical care: ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains, post-craniotomy and neurosurgery management, traumatic brain injury care
•
Respiratory support: ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, care of ventilated and fresh tracheostomy patients
•
Complex procedures: CRRT/CVVHD, IABP management, continuous IV sedation and paralytic administration
•
Specialized interventions: blood product administration, central line and PICC management, chest tube assistance, lumbar drains
•
Critical protocols: stroke management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, procedural sedation, IV insulin protocols
Patient Population:
This unit serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with medical, surgical, trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neurological diagnoses requiring intensive monitoring and advanced interventions.
