Job Opportunity – Medical Rehabilitation Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), weekdays with every other weekend required. Choice of 36 or 48 hours per week. Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs. Block scheduling requests accommodated.
Highlights:
•
24-bed inpatient medical rehabilitation unit specializing in cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, amputations, neurological diseases, and severe deconditioning
•
Interdisciplinary team-based care model including physiatrist, nurse practitioner, therapists, and social workers collaborating on individualized patient care plans
•
Patient ratios: 1:5-6 on nights with average length of stay around 2 weeks
•
Cerner electronic medical records system
•
855-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital
•
No call requirement; first-time travelers accepted; orientation provided every other Thursday
Requirements:
•
Active West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending accepted for submission but must be active by start date)
•
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
•
Minimum 1 year of medical rehabilitation or in-specialty experience required
•
Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
•
Acute care rehabilitation experience preferred; charge nurse experience preferred
•
Two manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
•
Permanent address located 100+ miles from the facility (75-99 miles may be considered)
•
Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented
•
Proficiency with blood glucose monitoring, IV therapy, wound care, central line care, tracheostomy management, and specialty rehabilitation equipment
