Location: Livingston, New Jersey
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Friday/Saturday/Sunday schedule (except holiday weeks), every other weekend coverage required. Holiday commitment: must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) as needed. Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period.
Highlights:

NICU-based float pool position supporting a 56-bed Level III NICU caring for over 1,200 premature and critically ill newborns annually

Float rotation includes NICU Level III, PICU, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery with appropriate patient assignments based on skill set
•
597-bed teaching hospital and major teaching affiliate of a prominent medical school
•
Regional Perinatal Center with comprehensive pediatric critical care services and full-time pediatric subspecialists
•
EPIC charting system utilized throughout the facility
•
Patient ratios vary based on unit, acuity, census, and staffing; typical ratios 1:2
Requirements:
•
Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
•
Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and PALS
•
Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience with documented NICU Level III and PICU experience in employment history
•
EPIC charting experience required
•
Proficiency in arterial line management, central line/implanted line care, UAC/UVC, IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
•
Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation/management and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
•
Competency in neonatal feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), placement/management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome care
•
Care experience with neonates under 24-28 weeks gestational age
•
At least 1 supervisory reference required at time of submission
•
Willingness to float between units without exception
