Job Opportunity – Surgical ICU Registered Nurse – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 2:1 patient ratio, weekend coverage required, floating to other units as needed
Highlights:
•
Work in a Level I Trauma Center and regional burn center serving a tri-state area
•
Diverse case mix including trauma, transplant, burn, general surgery, plastic surgery, ENT, colorectal, orthopedic surgery, and overflow medical/neuro ICU patients
•
Epic charting system (preferred experience)
•
Advanced critical care environment with specialized procedures including CRRT, bedside trachs/PEGs, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, daily burn dressings, and invasive monitoring
•
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and radiology
•
First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience
Requirements:
•
Valid Registered Nurse license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
•
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
•
Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or Transplant ICU experience strongly preferred
•
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
•
Trauma Level II experience required
•
Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
•
Proficiency in critical care skills including arterial line management, ventilator care, central line management, vasoactive drip titration, blood product administration, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
•
Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role
•
Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
•
Ability to complete urgent credentialing requirements including Ohio fingerprinting process
