Adult inpatient Dialysis – Acute/Chronic Renal Failure
Patient Ratios:
•
RN: 2:1, 3:1 with hemodialysis technician
•
Hemodialysis tech: 4:1 with RN
Required Licensure & Certifications:
•
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS – Resource Team requirements
Skills required:
•
Assessments, Medication Administration, Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis
Support within the Department:
•
Charge nurse: Oversees department operations and patient throughput
•
Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes
Technology/Equipment:
•
Med dispensing: Omnicell
•
Unit specific equipment: Tablo Hemodialysis System and Baxter Home Choice Claria for peritoneal dialysis
