Key Responsibilities of the ED RN
•
Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department setting
•
Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
•
Assess patient needs - clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual
•
Recognize safety issues and ensure the safe movement of patients
•
Function effectively in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills
•
Exercise strong leadership by prioritizing and delegating tasks
•
May assume duties as a charge nurse when required
Requirements of the ED RN
•
Current NYS RN license required
•
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
•
Experience with MEDITECH and previous travel experience required
•
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
•
Critical Care and charge experience preferred
•
Completion of lethal dysrhythmia exam and defibrillation certification within six months of employment
•
IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification during orientation
