General Information
Beds: 35 beds; 6 fast track rooms
Avg. # of patients seen per day: 168
Experience: 3 years ED experience – needs to be in a fast paced facility
First-time traveler: Upon Review – with strong experience
Patient Types:
•
Neonate to Geriatrics - all ED diagnoses seen
•
Heavy Mental Health population
•
Invasive Neuro, STEMI requiring Cath Lab – stabilized and shipped out to St. Luke s
•
Trauma, include but not limited to: GSW, Stabbings, Falls, MVC
Patient Ratios:
•
Day & Night – 1:4 (acuity based)
Required Certifications:
•
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
Skills required
•
3 years of ED experience in fast paced ED
•
Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, basic knowledge of critical care drips and med administration, NIHSS experience – cannot obtain prior to start, TPA administration, blood administration, procedural sedation, code blue experience
•
Triage experience (strongly preferred)
Support on the Unit:
•
ED Tech, 24/7 – able to draw blood, glucose checks
•
Charge nurse – may rarely have lower acuity assignment dependent on staffing
•
Phlebotomy – may respond in Trauma s; may assist with blood cultures or difficult sticks
•
Mid-Level providers, 24/7
•
Security – Locked unit and home base is in lobby of ED
•
Central and bedside telemetry monitoring
Charting System/Equipment:
Floating: N/A
Orientation: (2) 12 hr shifts on unit
Scheduling:
•
Shift times: dependent on requisition
•
Weekend rotation – every other
•
Can we approve time off: Reach out to Travis Bond for approval

Holiday Expectations: 2/4 major holidays or every other
