Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
Certification / License:
Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license approved.
BLS required.
ACLS required.
Work Experience:
2 years of nursing experience in specialty area required.
Education

● Unit Information:
o Beds: 18
▪ Average Census: 17
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years ICU experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Will consider
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Sepsis, DKA, Substance abuse, Flu, COVID, Pneumonia, CHF, Stroke, GI Bleed
● Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:2
● Required Licensure & Certifications:
o RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
● Skills required:
o Critical Care Assessment Skills, Critical Thinking, Vent care, Central Line care, hemodynamic monitoring
● Support within the Department:
o CNA - Baths, blood sugars, turning, toileting
o No HUC
o Charge nurse, 24/7 – may have patient assignment
o Phlebotomy – peripheral blood draws only
o IV/VAT Team
o RT, 24/7
o Hospitalist, 24/7
o Intensivist 24/7 -- Virtual Critical Care at night
o Telemetry monitoring – bedside and nurses station
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o IV Pump:
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: Philips
o Unit specific equipment: Artic Sun
● Floating:
▪ Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)
● Orientation (facility and unit) :
o NEO
o 2 days departmental
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: every other
o No call
o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
o Shift times: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
