Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred; National certification in Medical-Surgical or Nephrology Nursing preferred Must-Have: Strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills Experience in trach care, chest tube management, and IV insertion Ability to manage peritoneal dialysis and perform cardiac monitoring Experience in patient education, discharge planning, and care coordination Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele. The facility has 637 licensed beds and a Level 1 Trauma designation. The role involves caring for patients with acute or chronic kidney disease and post-op urology or renal-related surgeries. Common patient comorbidities include diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. The RN will manage a patient ratio of 1:4-6. A CNA will assist with vital signs, glucose checks, and patient mobility. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for discharge planning and patient education. Staff will use EMR systems and various medical equipment, including monitors and IV pumps. The RN is expected to work rotating weekends and major holidays as per departmental expectations. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork in a busy environment.
