General Information
Tell us about the unit(s):
  • Number of Beds -60
  • Number of Staff – 50
  • Type of staff:
    • Day Shift –1 Charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNS, PCTs, and unit secretary when grid allows
    • Night Shift – 1 Charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNS, PCTs
  • Patient Ratios – 5:1 (Med Surg Specialty 4 th  Floor). 6:1 (Med Surg 5 th  Floor)
  • Type of equipment – remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, dynamaps
  • EMR –Alterra (Allscripts)

Skill Set Most recruited for: 
 
Must have :   candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
  • Telemetry experience
  • Med Surg Experience
Preferred or nice to have :   candidates with these skills will be considered first.
  • Cardiac recognition, IV starts
  •  Time management
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):   
  •   All abdominal: chole, appy, colectomy, diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart caths, run offs
  •  Gastric sleeves, total hip, knee and shoulder replacements. Ortho trauma repairs (fractures)
Best personality Fit:
  •  Team oriented, positive and flexible.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
  • ACLS, BLS, NIHS
Floating Area(s):
  • Mandatory Float as needed: Inpatient rehab, ED, PCU. Will not be given an assignment outside of skill level or scope.
Dress Code :
  • Scrub Color/Attire -   Currently wear black scrubs but will be moving to Medical City Blue

Weekends and On call(if any)
  • Weekend shifts are required. No on call. Will push back per the attendance policy.
