About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: 1.5-2+ years of experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required Must-Have: 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry. 2 years of experience in Step Down. Ability to read telemetry strips. Description: Step Down / Immediate Care Unit RN. The shift is 3 evenings from 7 PM to 7 AM, including weekdays and some weekends. Typical patient ratios are 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 in emergencies. Holiday requests should be limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays. The unit handles patients who may also fall under Progressive Care or Telemetry categories in larger facilities. The acuity of patients will vary. Experience in travel nursing is not required. Candidates should be able to provide flexibility in scheduling, including weekend blocks. Scrubs are not provided; candidates should wear burgundy and/or white. Experience with Cerner EMR is necessary. The unit's daily census is around 34 patients. Most patients are cardiac-related, including those recovering from cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology procedures. Additional medical/surgical patients may also be present. Interdisciplinary support includes various service teams. Candidates must possess strong skills in cardiac telemetry, IV management, and other critical nursing procedures. Candidates should have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility for eligibility. References from previous managerial or charge roles are required.
