This role requires working 3x12-hour night shifts. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a Neuro ICU setting. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory. Experience in blood product administration and care of ventilated patients is essential. Candidates should be knowledgeable in central line care/management and CVA/acute stroke management. Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD) and ICP monitoring is expected. The registered nurse will be involved in the management of dysrhythmias and post-craniotomy care. As part of the team, the RN will support interdisciplinary care, including physical therapy and respiratory services. A strong knowledge of spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries is necessary. The unit cares for adults with a daily census of 14 patients. Patient ratios will be 2:1 days and nights.
