Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Emergency Room/Emergency Department

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols, monitor side-effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Emergency Room/Emergency Department

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications required (AHA only)
• RN License in the state of TX or compact
