Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Med Surg experience Description: General information about the unit: Number of beds: 60 Number of staff: 50 Staffing includes Charge nurses, RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries when grid allows. Patient ratios: 5:1 on 4th floor; 6:1 on 5th floor. Type of equipment: Remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, dynamaps. EMR system: Alterra (Allscripts). Typical procedures performed include: All abdominal procedures: cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy, diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis. Cardiac catheterizations, run-offs, gastric sleeve surgeries, total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements. Orthopedic trauma repairs (fractures). Ideal personality fit: Team-oriented, positive, and flexible. Floating areas: Mandatory floating as needed to inpatient rehab, ED, and PCU. Assignments will not exceed skill level or scope. Dress code: Scrub color: Currently black scrubs but moving to designated medical scrubs. Weekend shifts are required. No on-call shifts. Attendance policy will be enforced.
