About the Position

Job Title: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long-Term Care (LTC) Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Full-Time Evenings/Weekends Hours per Shift: 7.5 hours Experience: One (1) year of previous experience in LTC or as a CNA required License: Client Nursing Assistant Certification required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: High School Diploma or GED Description: Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, the Certified Nurse Assistant performs direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the lifespan. This role requires the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the necessary information to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs. Care appropriate for both adult and geriatric patient groups must be provided. Responsibilities include: Meeting residents' Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) needs as outlined in the plan of care. Maintaining the residents' environment and safety as per policies and procedures. Meeting residents' nutritional needs in accordance with their preferences and the plan of care. Addressing residents' rehabilitative needs through restorative and maintenance activities. Reporting residents' rights, refusals, and concerns to the supervising nurse promptly. Identifying and reporting changes in residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial status to the supervising nurse. The role involves potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and tasks related to contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
