Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care to high-acuity critical care patients with multiple comorbidities and continuous drip management utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Support recovery of post cardiothoracic surgery patients fresh from the OR, including management of advanced cardiac support devices such as IMPELLA and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump.
- Operate and monitor therapeutic equipment including Arctic Sun temperature management and TABLO XT/CRRT renal replacement therapy.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided; assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a valid compact RN license.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Critical Care nursing setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with post cardiothoracic surgical recovery, IMPELLA, Balloon Pump, Arctic Sun, and CRRT/TABLO XT.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience with Epic electronic health records system.
- Experience managing high-acuity patients with multiple comorbidities and complex drip titration.
