RN – Step Down / Advanced PCU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (36 hrs/week) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an advanced PCU/Step Down unit that operates at an ICU-level acuity
• Care for 24-hour post-CABG cardiac surgery patients, including management of chest tubes
• Monitor and manage patients with LVADs (facility orientation/course provided)
• Perform continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation
• Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• Complete a proctored, non-multiple-choice rhythm identification test upon start (two attempts allowed)

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license – must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 18 months of IMC/PCU/Step Down specialty experience within the past 3 years
• Current ACLS certification
• Ability to pass a proctored cardiac rhythm identification test
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (no local travelers)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-cardiac surgery patients, including chest tube management
• Familiarity with LVAD patient care
