About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in IMC/MS stepdown cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery required. License: Current and valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EKG Course/Telemetry test, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Driver's license or state-issued ID required and utility bill in the Traveler's name with matching address within the last three months. Description: The role involves caring for IMC/MS stepdown patients, focusing on cardiology and cardiovascular surgeries. A 4:1 patient ratio is maintained for safety and optimal care. Common diagnoses include pre and post-operative cardiac surgery, STEMI/NSTEMI, and CHF exacerbations. Nurses will also manage patients requiring pacemaker care and those with various dysrhythmias. The unit specializes in both cardiology and general IMC level patients. Staff members must be prepared to float to different areas as needed based on patient care demands. All candidates should be willing to provide clinical care aligned with unit protocols and standards. Adherence to safety standards, including isolation precautions and emergency procedures, is essential. Patients will include those with a range of cardiovascular needs, ensuring a dynamic work environment. Nurse to patient ratios are determined by patient acuity, ensuring appropriate staffing to meet patient needs.
