About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification, ACLS certification Must-Have: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred - 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred Description: The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary. Must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member. Initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and specialty-specific competency validation.
