The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients with conditions such as CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, and various cardiac syndromes. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5. Nursing support includes a central telemetry monitor tech. Ventilation management includes Bipap and Cpap support. Pharmacy support is available 24/7, and nursing staff does not mix medications. Shifts are 12 hours from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Traveling nurses should expect to float to other units as necessary. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Holidays are also required every other holiday. Scrub color is not specified; nurses can wear their own scrubs. Common diagnoses for this unit include congestive heart failure and various disturbances in heart rhythm. The charge nurse will also take on patient responsibilities. Nurse aides will provide support, with a ratio of 1 aide per 9 patients.
