General Information
Tell us about the unit(s):
· Number of Beds – 16 with 8 hall chairs
· Number of Staff – 6-7 per shift
· Type of staff:
o Day Shift – 1 charge, 1 triage, 4-5 nurses (one is mid-shift), 1 US, 1-2 techs
o Night Shift – 1 charge, 1 triage, 4-5 nurses (one is mid-shift), US 7pm- MN, 1 tech
· Patient Ratios – 1:4, low acuity Client 4 & 5, may take 6.
· Type of equipment –Cardiac Monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Client’s, Tonopen and more
· EMR – Meditech, Vital signs flow into chart
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
Compassion, Urgency and Teamwork is extremely important at this location
· Level II or Level III trauma experience
· TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
· CEN or TCRN, CPI
· Greater than two years of emergency department experience
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
· Assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV’s,
· Urine collection, Lab draws, Care for Client 5 through 1
Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.
· Scrub Color - Royal Blue preferred
· Incorporating Sunday seasonal team spirit, wear your team jersey (example Astro’s, Cowboys)
Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines.
· Shift Huddle at 7am and 7pm, is mandatory for everyone to attend unless providing critical care at the time of the huddle
· EMTALA training is mandatory
Awards/Recognition: Feel free to include items such as links to videos that feature the department, outstanding department/team awards, reigning annual chili cook-off winners, etc.
· Climbing the ranks of patient satisfaction and employee engagement
· Providing timely care for Stroke, STEMI, Sepsis and Trauma patients.
