About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols - Patient falls prevention - Experience caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients Description: This position is in a specialized unit caring for patients with acute leukemia and hematology issues. The shift is primarily nights with a 12-hour duration. The orientation includes a combination of classroom and on-unit training. Staffing ratios are typically 1:4 but can vary to 1:5 depending on unit needs. Self-scheduling requests are accepted to accommodate preferred schedules. Candidates should have experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Skills in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line management are essential. Oncology experience is preferred but not required. All candidates must complete fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process. Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy and social services. This role requires heavy engagement in infection control practices.
