About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2+ years License: RN required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must have ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: The Progressive Care Unit has 44 beds and a staff of 95. The day shift grid consists of 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. The night shift grid consists of 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Patient ratios are 4:1 on grid and 5:1 when stretched. Equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. The electronic medical record system is Cerner. Candidates with neuro and trauma care experience are preferred. Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, feeding tube placements, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidate will be a team player and patient-focused. Floating will occur to stepdown and med-surg units. Every other weekend is required.
