About the Position

Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years; first-time travelers not accepted License: GA or Compact RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience with patient ratios of 4:1 - Required experience with EPIC charting system - Travel experience Description: The role requires a minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience. The unit does not accept first-time travelers. Candidates must have current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS. All staffing must comply fully to ensure timely start dates. If there is non-compliance, there could be a two-week pushback due to orientation scheduling. Travelers are expected to work major holidays if they fall within their assignment period. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be needed. Compliance with unit standards is mandatory. Candidates should have experience managing arterial lines, ventilated patients, and central lines. Experience with dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, and the management of multi-system organ failure is also required. The unit sees a daily census of 265 patients and manages a diverse age group including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Team support includes various services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
