About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year in Emergency Department or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility License: Current RN License in the state Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS from AHA, TNCC, NIHSS (must obtain prior to start) Must-Have Skills/Experience: 1 year in Emergency Department or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility must be indicated on the resume. This is a busy urban trauma center. Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice and state regulations. Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications is required. Must have demonstrated clinical expertise in their area of responsibility. Stand and walk most of the time on duty. Lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. Usually work in a clean, air-conditioned area. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., with minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
